Department of Biochemistry is offering “Therapeutic Nutrition” as a value added course to the non-core students. The course is designed in such a way that the enrolled students will be aware of the importance of nutritive foods while comparing to the calorific foods. Upon completion of this 60 hrs course the students will have the following outcomes.

The course will enable the students:

• To understand the etiology, physiologic and metabolic anomalies of acute and chronic diseases and patient needs.
• To know the effect of the various diseases on nutritional status and nutritional and dietary requirements.
• To be able to recommend and provide appropriate nutritional care for prevention/ and treatment of the various diseases.

Around 65 students from other departments are enrolled and benefitted from the add on Therapeutic Nutrition course.
